MarriageWiki:About
From MarriageWiki
You've reached the part of our digital domain where we get serious about the social science behind the our mission. Anyone who feels an uncontrollable urge to bolt when an academic approaches a microphone might want to click back to our main web site for more lighthearted material. If you're the type to push your glasses up your nose and gleefully whip out your pencil and pad, or you're under compulsion to produce a report for one of those types, have a look around! We are pleased to present the best research from leading social scientists documenting the impact of family structure on social outcomes. We feature only original research from reputable, academically qualified sources.
Unlike Wikipedia's famous open editing platform, we do not allow edits to our pages. This is because we replicate the Executive Summary portion of each research piece, and it is copyrighted material which cannot be changed without affecting the author's meaning. However, we provide handy links back to the original source of each study, so you can take any concerns about the information itself back to the authors.
We do have a section just for you to add your voice to the fray! Called "Consider This", it contains news articles written from various points of view. Each article has a brief response from Executive Director, Susan Dutton Freund. We encourage you to read the featured article, consider Susan's response, and add your own views on the "discussion" tab
