What we are… thinkmarriage is a resource for healthy relationships. We are a values-based organization that upholds the value of marriage and provides people the hope and skills necessary to achieve happy, lifelong marriages. We do not have any political or religious affiliation. Who we are… thinkmarriage.org is the DBA name of the Foundation for a Great Marriage, Inc. We are a non-profit corporation headquartered in Green Bay, WI. We are funded by a combination of public and private grants, private donations, and earned revenue.Our goals… The mission of our organization is to uphold the value of marriage, and to promote the skills that create healthy relationships, families and communities. We seek to teach all people what a healthy relationship is, to prevent bad marriages before they begin, and to equip good marriages with the tools they need to last a lifetime. Over time we hope to see the divorce rate decline, and the marriage rate increase. We hope to see 70% of children experience the research-proven benefits of growing up with their own, two, married parents. Our history… thinkmarriage was incorporated in 2003, as an outgrowth of the national healthy marriage movement. The initial focus was on creating positive change in the state of Wisconsin. Our in-person workshops continue to be offered exclusively in Wisconsin. Susan Dutton Freund has served as the Executive Director since 2005. We have a dedicated staff in Green Bay, as well as remote staff working in Fond du Lac, Outagamie, Marathon, Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. thinkmarriage.org is… A resource that empowers teens, singles and couples to control the quality of their relationships. A resource to the business community for healthy workplace relationships. About the business of elevating marriage as a respected, sought-after, and valuable institution, a gold standard for healthy couple relationships and child outcomes. thinkmarriage.org is… A hub of information that provides tools and training via the Internet to help people everywhere catch the vision and receive the training to build and sustain healthy relationships. A non-profit organization that seeks to sustain its operations through a combination of earned revenue and contributed revenue - from public and private funders and individual donors. thinkmarriage.org is NOT… Marriage counseling. We are marriage educators who teach evidence-based curricula to help people gain healthy relationship skills. About coercing or otherwise encouraging people to remain in unhealthy or unsafe relationships. We teach relational safety in every workshop we offer. Judgmental about divorced people or single parents, or those who choose a lifestyle of being single. We seek to work with people’s relational aspirations, not against them. In the business of promoting marriage as a cure-all for every social ill.
